Outstanding New Sponsor for Greenbank Fal River Festival 2011

The Cornwall Area of Outstanding Beauty (AONB) is sponsoring a day of this year’s Greenbank Fal River Festival. It is the second year running that the organisation has supported this popular local event.

Celebrating life on and around the river Fal, the Festival will take place from May 27 – June 5 in 2011.  It attracts more than 100,000 people to over 150 events, making it one of the largest festivals of its type in Cornwall.

Colette Holden, Cornwall AONB’s Partnership Manager, is pleased to continue the relationship between the two organisations:
“We’re delighted to support this favourite festival for another year, especially because the Fal River from Tregony down past Trelissick and out to the Carrick Roads, is wholly within the South Coast Central section of the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  In fact the Fal River is one of Europe's best unspoilt examples of a drowned estuary complex.  It’s important to attract visitors to the region so that they can experience and appreciate its beauty firsthand.”

Festival Sponsorship and Corporate Relationship Manager for the Greenbank Fal River Festival, Helen Mulhern is grateful to AONB for supporting the festival once again:
“The success of this hugely popular community event depends on sponsors like Cornwall AONB.  Sponsorship of the Greenbank Fal River Festival enables it to run and sponsors can reach over a hundred thousand people.  We are delighted that Cornwall AONB will be involved again and would like to thank them for their continued support.”

An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is a precious landscape whose distinctive character and natural beauty are so outstanding that it is in the nation's interest to safeguard them.  The Cornwall AONB covers 958 sq km and consists of 12 separate geographical areas that protect many important natural and historic sites and has the same status and protection as a National Park.

There are a limited number of Day Sponsorship opportunities still available for the Greenbank Fal River Festival and the new scheme – “Friends of Greenbank Fal River Festival”, also offers a variety of benefits for just £75.
