Masquerade Awards Gala Honors Eleven Supplier Diversity Champions and Minority Businesses

Local non-profit announced the winners of its 2010 Excellence in Supplier Diversity Awards at its 33rd Annual Gala on March 25 in San Francisco

March 30, 2011 - PRLog -- The Northern California Minority Supplier Development Council (NCMSDC), a local non-profit dedicated to promoting minority supplier development, announced the winners of its 2010 Excellence in Supplier Diversity Awards at its 33rd Annual Gala on March 25 in San Francisco.  Present to celebrate the eleven award winners were over 380 guests from major Fortune 500 corporations, Minority-owned Business Enterprises (MBEs), the CPUC, and strategic alliance partners.  Special award speakers included Richard Chacon, Vice President and Supplier Diversity Manager, Union Bank, and Bernard J. Tyson, President and Chief Operating Officer, Kaiser Permanente.  Honorary Guest CPUC Commissioner Timothy Alan Simon was also in attendance as well as representatives from the Office of Assemblymember Sandré R. Swanson, including District Director Carol “CJ” Jones.

Over forty Corporate Members and certified MBEs competed for eleven distinguished awards.  A list of 2010 Excellence in Supplier Diversity Award winners follows:

Corporation of the Year
Tier 1 Winner: Kaiser Permanente
Tier 2 Winner: Pacific Gas and Electric Company

Executive of the Year: Marianne Strobel, Executive Director, AT&T Global Supplier Diversity, AT&T

President’s Award: Robert Half International in recognition of the contributions of Kathleen Trimble, Director, Supplier Diversity, Robert Half International

MBE Choice Award: AT&T

Sourcing Manager of the Year: Sylvia dos Remedios, Sourcing Manager, Kaiser Permanente

Corporate Buyer of the Year: Maurice Webb, Supplier Diversity Manager, Apple Inc.

Corporate Coordinator of the Year: Richard Chacon, Vice President and Supplier Diversity Manager, Union Bank
