SSON Accepting Nominations for “People’s Choice” Award for Personal Contribution

Industry Award to Recognise Outstanding Shared Services and Outsourcing Professional
By: Arthur Chan

March 27, 2011 - PRLog -- MELBOURNE, Australia (28 March 2011) - The Shared Services & Outsourcing Network (SSON), the largest and most established community of shared services and outsourcing professionals, is now accepting nominations for its Personal Contribution to the Industry Award. The award – determined by public vote for the first time – will honor an influential industry professional whose impact pushes the boundaries of innovation and idea sharing.
Due to the nature of the award, SSON opened the nomination and voting process to make it “The People’s Choice” for the professional who contributed above and beyond their role in the shared services and outsourcing industry.
“We’re looking for that individual who is respected and admired throughout the industry –  the person who gave a presentation that continues to impress you or that contact whose business card you filed away carefully,” stated Naomi Secor, Global Program Director at SSON. “Rather than have a panel of judges select this person, the SSON decided to make it ‘The People’s Choice.’”
To submit a nomination, please email SSO Week Australia Program Director, Natalie Williams, natalie.williams@iqpc.com.au. Nominations must be received by Thursday March 31.
The “People’s Choice” for Personal Contribution to the Industry in the Australasian shared services and outsourcing space will be unveiled as part of the 2011 SSON Excellence Awards during the 14th Annual Australasian Shared Services & Outsourcing Week.
The premier shared services and outsourcing event will take place at the Palladium at Crown in Melbourne, Australia from April 11 - 14, 2011. Over the course of three days, the event will engage more than 450 shared services and outsourcing professionals with more than 35 presentations by industry experts from Qantas, ANZ, NSW Government, Bluescope Steel, and Mission Australia. Executives and subject matter experts from companies such as Macquarie, BP Elite, Telstra, University of Sydney, Deloitte, The Salvation Army, Schiavello Group, Chemtex Group of Companies, Suncorp, Schweppes, and NAB will share a full series of interactive presentations and workshops covering key topics including benchmarking, change management, cloud computing, effective governance, automating P2P, and how to stay ahead of the innovation curve.

The 2011 event is set to emphasize one-on-one networking and personal development, as SSON introduces new award categories for the 2011 SSON Excellence Awards – including “The People’s Choice” for Personal Contribution to the Industry Award. The Awards Ceremony will be take place on April 12.
