-- Querencia at Barton Creek senior living community, in conjunction with the Senior Quality Lifestyles Corporation (SQLC) Charitable Foundation, recently hosted renowned author and professor Dr. William J. Evans, Professor of Medicine in the Geriatrics Program at Duke University Medical Center and co-author of “Biomarkers:
The 10 Keys to Prolonging Vitality.” Dr. Evans gave residents and guests an exciting presentation detailing the new evidence which shows that the physiological functions that contribute to aging, such as exercise and nutrition, can be controlled, regardless of age or one’s physical condition. Dr. Evans’ research has demonstrated the ability of older men and women to improve strength, fitness and health through exercise, even into the 10th decade of life.
“Dr. Evans’ presentation was extremely interesting and relevant for people of all ages,” said Leslie Dominguez, director of sales and marketing at Querencia. “It was wonderful to have the opportunity to host him and the best take away from the talk was our residents being able to see that it’s never too late to begin a workout program.”
In 2008, SQLC founded the SQLC Charitable Foundation, a nonprofit foundation that operates to make grants to and support programs and services that advance the interests of seniors.
