James Landers Saint Petersburg Football Coach, Warns of the Dangers of Over Training in Youth Sports

James Landers a Youth Football Coach in Saint Petersburg, Discusses the Dangers of Over Training

March 25, 2011 - PRLog -- Over training, especially in youth sports, can take a disastrous toll on the body. Very few athletes are under trained, yet many are over trained. Over training can be associated with excessive training practices in which the trainer's training regiment results in the body's inability to adapt.

Many believe that using excessive training practices will provide quicker results, which is not necessarily true and can be very dangerous.

The autonomic nervous system reacts to over training by eliciting feelings of nausea, elevated resting heart rate, high blood pressure, difficulty sleeping, and causes a decrease in appetite. These symptoms can be very dangerous, especially for youth athletes.

For youth athletes in particular, over training can damage bone growth plates and cause inflammation. Beware of strength trainers that foster the concept of excessive exercise sessions are necessary to improve performance.
