March 25, 2011 - PRLog -- Holkham beach has been crowned the Best British Beach in the Coast Awards for the third year running by readers of Coast magazine. The beach at Holkham is one of the most unspoilt and beautiful stretches of sand in the country and is part of one of the largest Nature Reserves in the country, which is managed by Natural England in partnership with Holkham Estate. The Holkham National Nature Reserve is home to many rare species of flora and fauna.

Now not only has Cromer Pier joined the ranks of prize winners after being voted the best loved pier in Britain, but the Norfolk coastal path has also won the Best Coastal Path award. Making this one of the best pieces of coastline to visit and what better place to stay than Leisureplex’s Hotel De Paris, one of Cromer’s most iconic listed buildings directly overlooking the prize winning pier. http://www.leisureplex.co.uk/hotels/22-De_Paris_Hotel_Cromer.html for more details.
The annual awards by Coast magazine is renowned for celebrating the people and places that represent all that is innovative, valuable and exciting around the British coastline.

North Norfolk District Council’s tourism cabinet member Hilary Nelson said the three successes were "brilliant news" and showed the area’s mix of natural and built heritage provided one of the best tourism offers in the country.

TV presenter Michaela Strachan awarded the winners and runners-up their prizes at the Coast Awards 2011 ceremony, which was held at the Country Living Fair in London on Wednesday night.

Coast Editor Clare Gogerty said: "The quality of this year’s nominations is proof that the visitor experience and lifestyle to be had by the British coast just keeps on getting better."
