Classic Resorts & Weekends - new from Voyages Jules Verne

Voyages Jules Verne’s latest selection of short breaks and sojourns features new itineraries in Austria, Iceland, India & Malta

March 25, 2011 - PRLog -- Specialist tour operator Voyages Jules Verne has launched the latest edition of its popular Classic Resorts & Weekends brochure.

Featuring a choice of 32 imaginative itineraries across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East, clients can choose from classic city breaks and cultural forays or simply book a relaxing resort stay with the option to add on some sightseeing trips once they get there.

The new brochure, which covers departures from April 2011 to April 2012, encompasses perennial Voyages Jules Verne favourites – such as Venice from the Water, Bargain in Marrakech and A Taste of South Africa, as well as more recent additions that include Tallinn Tales, Red Sea & Dead Sea and Arts & Delights in Vienna.

New to the Classic Resorts & Weekends collection for 2011 are:

• Bombay Mix: A visit to India needn’t be a drawn-out affair, as illustrated by Voyages Jules Verne’s new five-night trip. Based in a four or five-star hotel in Mumbai, this itinerary includes a full-day sightseeing tour of the city as well as plenty of time for independent exploration. Price is from £795 pp*.

• Going Going Tirol: Staying in the pretty Tirolean village of Going, this seven-night arrangement includes full-day tours of Innsbruck and Salzburg as well as a journey on Europe’s oldest steam-driven railway, the Achenseebahn and a cruise on Lake Achensee. Price is from £675 pp*.

• An Icelandic Summer: From your base in Reykjavik, enjoy unforgettable excursions to the Golden Circle, South Shore and the Blue Lagoon as well as optional extras such as Snæfellsnes National Park, a bird-watching cruise and whale watching (additional cost). Price is from £745 pp*.

• Heritage of Malta: Spend four nights in one of Malta’s historic hotels. As well as a morning walking tour of Valletta and visits to the Hal Saflieni Hypogeum, Mdina and Casa Bernard, there’s also an optional half-day excursion to Fort Rinella and the ‘Three Cities’. Price is from £445 pp*.

*According to the itinerary selected, prices are based on two sharing and include air travel and taxes, transportation, accommodation, some meals, a sightseeing programme and the services of guides and local representatives.

Also new to the Classic Resorts & Weekends brochure this year are details about the walking content of itineraries. Shown alongside other useful tour information in the ‘Key VJV Features’ section on each page, each tour is graded from 1 (relaxed walking) to 4 (strenuous - for seasoned walkers), based on an overall assessment of the terrain and activities covered.

Solo travellers selecting their next trip from the new Classic Resorts & Weekends brochure need not fear financial penalty, with more than half of the itineraries available with no single supplement. Options range from Jordan’s Red Sea and Cyprus – The Southern Tour to A Slice of Madeira, Grand Hotels on Lake Como and an Italian itinerary that includes a journey of the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, as well as the brand-new Heritage of Malta and Going Going Tirol tours, described above. No single supplement places apply on certain departure dates only and are subject to availability.
