March 25, 2011 - PRLog -- Stavanger, Norway, 25 March, 2010-  KADME, a leading provider of information management software and services to the oil and gas industry, is pleased to announce that KADME’s Whereoil software has been chosen by Statoil ASA to power the GeoTracker system which will monitor and track well reporting. The project kicked off in February 2011 and is set to go live in September 2011.

Whereoil Enterprise is the only search engine designed for the oil and gas industry that integrates structured and unstructured data, providing simple access to information from a multitude of sources.

KADME is customizing Whereoil to track Statoil's internal data flow, ensuring data passes through the necessary quality control steps and is successfully transmitted globally to regulatory authorities, corporate data stores and other data repositories. GeoTracker will enable Statoil users to automate data flow tasks based on predefined, country-specific rules.

KADME’s Managing Director Kjell-Arne Bjerkhaug is excited about the new relationship between KADME and Statoil, saying that “Statoil's choice of Whereoil to power the GeoTracker system is further proof of the power of our software to cope with a vast range of information management challenges.”

Statoil’s Leading Advisor on Data Management, Lars Olav Grøvik, stated, “The GeoTracker system will be an important piece in the Statoil data management system. It will track reporting of well data to ensure Statoil is in compliance with internal and external reporting requirements.”

Automated notifications will make it easier for Statoil users to meet their reporting deadlines. KADME project manager Synnøve Vea explains that, “GeoTracker will allow users to create workflows that make it easier to meet global data reporting requirements. The Whereoil software provides important monitoring and tracking capabilities, so a supervisor can quickly check and report on a status.”

For the Statoil Norway implementation, Whereoil will connect Statoil’s internal systems to outside information stores such as the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate fact pages and the DISKOS National Data Repository.

The Whereoil software is currently used as a key component of many oil company’s information management systems, and also powers National Data Repositories such as EPIS in Colombia and the ArcticWeb.com geo-portal.
