Rare 19th Century Antique Silver Chinese Mug Finally On Sale

March 25, 2011 - PRLog -- This is an excellent quality silver mug. Much of the decoration is applied not pushed out. The decoration starting to the right of the handle includes a large prunis tree with blossoms, all applied pieces, with two birds perched on branches. Below there is a peacock sitting in a rock ledge. A pair of pheasants on the ground to the right. In the front is a shield shaped cartouche unengraved. Then another prunis tree with multiple branches and 3 birds. Below are 2 herend and a pair of peacocks. All of the decoration is of the finest quality. The handle in the form of a figural branch. The whole background with stipple work. Excellent condition. Hallmarked on the bottom, A very heavy 14 troy ounces, 5 3/4" tall.
