Whittier Trust Company Adds Two Financial Industry Power Players

Whitlock to head San Francisco office for leading asset management firm; Coghlan joins board of directors
 
March 24, 2011 - PRLog -- San Francisco, CA – Whittier Trust Company, one of the leading asset management firms in California, is expanding and enhancing its presence in the Bay area with the addition of two financial industry power players. Louise Whitlock, CFA, former managing director of First Republic Bank, has been named head of Whittier Trust’s San Francisco office, which was established over 15 years ago. John Philip Coghlan, formerly Visa USA CEO and a Vice Chairman of the Charles Schwab Corporation, will join Whittier’s board of directors.

Whitlock is a 25-year wealth advisor and financial services veteran. During her time at First Republic Bank in San Francisco from 2005 to 2010, she closed over $680 million in new investment management, trust and brokerage business and ranked as the top wealth advisor producer in 2008. Prior to First Republic Bank, Whitlock was a senior portfolio manager at Wells Fargo Bank for both private clients and institutional accounts. She received a bachelor’s degree in foreign service from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, earned her MBA in finance and accounting from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Coghlan served from 2005 to 2007as President and CEO of Visa USA, leading up to the Visa Inc. IPO. Prior to Visa USA, Coghlan served as vice chairman of the Charles Schwab Corporation. He also holds board positions with various organizations including Board Chair of KIPP Bay Area Schools, the Glide Foundation, Birst Inc., and Life360.  He is a partner in the investment firm Seraph Group, LLC. Coghlan holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Stanford University, a master’s degree in economics and public policy from Princeton University, and a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard University.
