Buckinghamshire Start-Up Helps International Brand

It isn’t often that a global corporation turns to a small local start-up for help with promoting their brand to the Education sector. But that is exactly what Buckinghamshire based StudentGems did for their local neighbours Lexmark International.

March 24, 2011 - PRLog -- Marlow-based Lexmark were keen to raise awareness of their printers within the student community, so they asked StudentGems to work with them to help spread the word.

Using a mix of website advertising, newsletter articles and an online competition to win two of Lexmark’s latest all-in-one inkjet printers, StudentGems got the word out to over 20,000 students across the UK in 2010.

Sue Harrison, Managing Director of StudentGems, said: “Naturally we were delighted to help such a prestigious brand as Lexmark. We are only too aware of how students are strapped for cash and printing costs can easily use up a chunk of their budget. The latest Lexmark printers are quick and economical – ideal for students working to assignment deadlines.”

Steve Purdy, Country General Manager at Lexmark UK, commented: “We were very pleased with the whole StudentGems campaign and it was a real pleasure to give the printers to the two student competition winners to help them with studies.”

StudentGems are currently running another competition on behalf of Lexmark for all students and 2010 graduates. To enter go to www.studentgems.com/comp.asp for your chance to win a stylish Lexmark Genesis S815 complete with a supply of ink.
