MEMS Foundry Micralyne Names Sean Lord New Vice President, Engineering
Micralyne Inc, a world-renowned MEMS foundry services company, today announced that Sean Lord has been named as its new Vice President, Engineering. Lord brings over 20 years of senior engineering and research experience to the Edmonton-based company
"Engineering is the backbone of Micralyne’s MEMS foundry services, and Sean's drive, experience, and demonstrated leadership in the development and implementation of cutting-edge technology makes him an ideal leader for Micralyne’s MEMS development, process, quality assurance, and R&D teams. Sean has proven his ability to tackle complex, large-scale projects and we believe that he will be a tremendous asset to Micralyne," said Nancy Fares, Micralyne President and CEO.
Prior to joining CogniVue, Lord was VP Engineering at Sound Design Technologies, an Audio product IDM spin-out from Gennum Corporation. In that role, the Hearing Industry's first monolithic quad core DSP was developed, and ultimately the corporation was successfully acquired by On'Semiconductor. Whilst at Gennum Corporation, Sean held positions of Director R&D and Senior Analog Manager. His responsibilities included building and leading a team developing ICs for the Video Production Market. The team launched the world's first 3Gb/s SDI products enabling the next generation of high definition content and also won an Emmy Award for enabling High Definition in the broadcast industry.
Prior to Gennum, Lord further demonstrated his leadership abilities at Mosaid and Potentia leading IC Design teams developing cutting edge Memory devices and Power Management devices respectively. Lord has also held engineering roles in Microcosm, Cypress Semiconductor and Centronic in the fields of Datacommunications, Logic and Optoelectronics respectively.
