MEMS Foundry Micralyne Names Sean Lord New Vice President, Engineering

March 24, 2011 - PRLog -- As Vice President, Engineering, Lord will be responsible for managing Micralyne's skilled engineering staff and guiding the company's MEMS technology development. Lord joins Micralyne from his most recent position as VP of Research & Development for CogniVue, a specialist firm developing SoCs for intelligent automotive vision solutions. Lord’s work at CogniVue resulted in a product winning CES 2011 Best of Innovation Award for a novel automotive vision system.

Prior to joining CogniVue, Lord was VP Engineering at Sound Design Technologies, an Audio product IDM spin-out from Gennum Corporation. In that role, the Hearing Industry's first monolithic quad core DSP was developed, and ultimately the corporation was successfully acquired by On'Semiconductor. Whilst at Gennum Corporation, Sean held positions of Director R&D and Senior Analog Manager. His responsibilities included building and leading a team developing ICs for the Video Production Market. The team launched the world's first 3Gb/s SDI products enabling the next generation of high definition content and also won an Emmy Award for enabling High Definition in the broadcast industry.

Prior to Gennum, Lord further demonstrated his leadership abilities at Mosaid and Potentia leading IC Design teams developing cutting edge Memory devices and Power Management devices respectively. Lord has also held engineering roles in Microcosm, Cypress Semiconductor and Centronic in the fields of Datacommunications, Logic and Optoelectronics respectively.
