March 23, 2011 - PRLog -- PROMAT SHOW, CHICAGO, ILLINOIS – March 23, 2011 – Invata Intralogistics, Inc., a global provider of supply chain optimization, facilities integration, software and controls; and Storopack, a leading manufacturer and service provider in the fields of integrated protective packaging; today announced a mutually beneficial strategic alliance. Ideal for both parties, the symbiotic relationship represents substantial potential for greater market penetration and revenue growth.

Storopak, with over 64 U.S. sales representatives and packaging engineers, is a major player in the $1B+ U.S. packaging market for protective and transport packaging consumables. According to company spokesman John Wheaton, SVP of Strategic Marketing, “Over the last 5 years we have seen an increasing demand to drive cost out of the shipping and packaging operation. But the actual cost of packaging is a fraction of what needs to be changed to achieve those goals.”

Invata/GRSI’s FastTrackTM WM+ software suite has been specifically designed to support the latest packaging automation approaches and achieve major cost savings within the warehouse packaging and shipping areas. “Because our systems manage inventory, packaging functions and machine controls,” said Invata CMO Kevin Reader, ”we can also impact the costs of shipping and transportation, by selecting the right shipping containers, minimizing void fill, and optimizing the trailer cube.”

“Companies typically lack the supporting information systems and mechanization software required to reduce these costs,” adds Storopack's Daniel Wachter, VP Market Development and Head of Strategic Marketing. “Invata/GRSI is an ideal partner for Storopack. They have a strong background in packaging optimization and proven software solutions to meet and surpass client goals.”

Steve Martyn, Invata Executive VP, adds, “the last 100 feet in the warehouse, or L1F as we call it, is also about the consumer experience. When orders are packaged well, have no damage, and can be customized to meet the needs of the individual customer, that increases the lifetime customer value to our clients’ business.”
