STL concluded a 2day free MapInfo training course in Lagos, Nigeria

March 22, 2011 - PRLog -- There is an old adage which states, 'If it's free then it's not worth having!'. In March 2011 Spatial Technologies Ltd (STL) –Nigeria’s foremost map & GIS solution provider have set out to prove that this advice is a very long way removed from the truth.

STL recently concluded a 2day free MapInfo training course for 4 selected individuals in Lagos. The course that was aptly titled “Unlocking the Power & secrets of MapInfo Professional” was tutored led and covered principally the introductory and intermediate levels of MapInfo based.
The training provided several real-life scenarios on how one of Nigeria’s largest Bank is using GIS to make informed operational and investment decisions

In addition to providing meals, STL provided the facilities and all map data required for the training covering Lagos metropolis.
The map data used in the training include the followings:
1. Location map of over 600 bank branches in Lagos for Zenith Bank, Oceanic Bank, UBA, Intercontinental Bank, First Bank and GTB
2. Points of Interest covering such categories as markets, restaurants, schools, shopping malls, etc
3. Lagos street map
4. Lagos Landuse map
5. Lagos Local Government boundary data


A typical training of this nature costs over £800 per trainee but STL is offering it FREE of charge!
