Best Price Boxes debuts in O'Fallon, IL

For Customer Service Manager Kabrena Snipes, representing Best Price Boxes owners Dodge Moving & Storage, an agent for Mayflower Transit LLC, the story began with a simple concept.  “We are a moving company and obviously we use an incredible amount of cardboard and wrapping paper; finding a way to re-use these materials was an idea that came from our customers.  Many private and corporate customers of Dodge challenged us to become progressively more eco-friendly.  Company wide we looked for ways to meet the challenge and the partnership between Best Price Boxes and Dodge/Mayflower was the result of an eco-friendly challenge. The reception by our customers of this idea has been overwhelming!!”

“It looked like such a waste. We knew there had to be a way to re-use the perfectly good boxes.  Most boxes are good for four or five uses,” says Kabrena Snipes.  “So we started searching for someone who was already doing it and we found the Best Price Boxes franchise.”

Best Price Boxes sells moving boxes at deeply discounted prices – prices made possible by constantly reusing the materials.  The store sells new and “gently” used boxes, often at half the price of competitors, and will then buy the same boxes back from customers. The company will buy and sell any type of moving/shipping boxes – even those not originally purchased there – as long as they meet the “gently used” criteria. While tape and writing on the box are okay, holes or stains are not.

The continuous cycle keeps cardboard boxes in circulation – and out of landfills or premature trips to the recycling plant – until they’re no longer useable.  Customers save on the front end with the discounted prices and again when they sell their boxes back to the store. Knowing they’re helping the environment is an added bonus.

“When it comes to helping the environment, it’s about finding small changes that lead to big results over time,” says Kabrena Snipes  “People really don’t mind moving boxes that have been used before, particularly when you look at the cost of new moving boxes and the impact to the environment if everyone makes better use of the resource. Although the four-year old Best Price Boxes chain has grown quickly, with 15 stores in California, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, the St. Louis and O’Fallon stores are part of another phase of expansion within the Midwest.
