March 21, 2011 - PRLog -- If you are a hip hop lover and especially a fan of LIVE music, you need to be at U St Music Hall on Sunday, March 27, 2011. Twenty20, Life Massive & Cool Kids Forever Films Presents The Indie Life: Concert Series. Last month, The Indie Life: Concert Series made its debut featuring Black Milk, drawing a crowd of 200+ while competing with the Grammy Awards airing LIVE at the same time of the event. Receiving a post write up in The Washington Post, being recognized on TBD.com & The City Paper, the reviews have been unanimously positive. Back for its second round, this months edition will feature Philadelphia FREEWAY, the one-time Rocafella Records and G-Unit giant responsible for a string of smash hits such as "What We Do" featuring Jay-Z & Beanie Sigel and "Flipside". Also performing will be hometown favorites, SmCity, Black Cobain & Kingpen Slim.. Some information to support the opening acts is as follows: SmCity (Creator of The Indie Life Series, The Indie Life: A Motion Picture Album short film on Okayplayer), Black Cobain, a VA based hip hop artist signed to The Board Administration, with the single currently out with J. Holiday titled “Lust” & Kingpen Slim of Beam Up Ent who has recently been put into rotation in the DC market with his hit single “Goosebumps”.

The Indie Life: Concert Series is the creation of Hip Hop artist SmCity (URB Mag NEXT 100, SXSW performer, Owner of Twenty20 Music & Films). Being a well respected artist/entrepreneur based in the DC/MD/VA (DMV) area he realized that there needed to be a platform to showcase the indie talent in the correct light. His goal is to bring a nationally known headlining act to Washington, DC every month and pair them with some of the most decorated indie artist in the DMV. At press time, this is the only reoccurring event at a respected venue centering around the budding DMV music scene. Tickets can be purchased at: http://theindielife.eventbrite.com.

U St Music Hall is located at 1115A U St NW, Washington, DC 20009. Doors open at 9pm and it's an 18 & Up event and proper ID is required. For more information please visit www.smcitymusic.com.
