Essex Singer Hoping To Be “By Royal Appointment” After April 29

Leading Frank Sinatra is hopeful for a Royal Wedding performance
March 21, 2011 - PRLog -- An Essex entertainer is keeping his fingers crossed that after April 29 he can add “By Royal Appointment” to his website and calling card.

For Ian Gallagher, who is regarded as the country’s leading Frank Sinatra tribute act, has offered his singing services to Prince William on his wedding day to Kate Middleton.

Ian, from Horndon-on-the-Hill, who has performed at Buckingham Palace and in front of William’s uncle, Prince Andrew, has been contacted by staff at St James’s Palace, thanking him for his offer.

The 42-year-old, who gave his first concert when he was seven, said: “I very much believe in the saying ‘nothing ventured, nothing gained, and this is certainly what I did here.

“I wrote to Prince William offering my singing talents for his reception and, in reply, received a lovely letter back from him. It thanked me for my offer and said they will contact me if they wish to take me up on it.

“I’m not sure who they have got in mind to entertain them and their guests, but now my name is in the ring. If they did hire me, I bet it’ll be the first Royal wedding in history to feature a tribute act.

“If I do get the call, I’ll perform my Michael Buble´ tribute, as he appeals to a much wider age range. However, I’m sure a little Frank Sinatra wouldn’t go amiss.

“You never know, on Saturday, April 30, I may well have the words ‘By Royal Appointment’ emblazoned on my website and business cards!”
