Intelligentsia Films Announces THE FLIRTING GAME is a Screenplay Search competition finalist
Intelligentsia Films announces THE FLIRTING GAME, a Finalist in the Fourth Screenplay Search Competition, will have a mobile app as a compendium piece, which will be available for download in summer 2011.
The book and screenplay will be a compendium piece to a mobile app that the producers will be releasing in summer 2011. Working with a new model that combines film development and production with mobile apps, Intelligentsia Films is currently talking to interested investors and distributors.
"Directors such as Park Chan-wook have proven that there is a new film-making model to be exploited and mobile can and will be a full part of it," said Andrew Pearson, the CEO of Intelligentsia Films, adding that, "Park Chan-wook's 'Ups and Downs' -- a 30-minute fantasy-horror short that was shot entirely on an iPhone and then released theatrically throughout Korea -- has ushered in an era where inexpensive yet creatively distinct product can quickly find a paying audience through old and new distribution channels." Pearson believes that we are at the forefront of a mobile app and film technological revolution and he sees them as complimentary parts rather than as competing technologies. Pearson stated that, "this is a world where technology is breaking down the barriers of old, where the power is moving away from the studios and into the hands of the creatives and we hope our project can be one of the leaders of this new future."
Pearson is a professional screenwriter who has been commissioned to write several screenplays. His adaptations of novels such as OPEN WATER, THE SUNDAY MACARONI CLUB, SCAVENGER REEF, THE JUKEBOX QUEEN OF MALTA and FUGITIVE MOON attached several known directors, while also under option at such production and finance companies as Bridgeview Films, Magic Hour Media, Tricoast Productions, Boldface Films and American World Pictures. No stranger to screenwriting competition accolades, Pearson's adaptation of Steve Lopez's novel THE SUNDAY MACARONI CLUB was a Quarter-Finalist in the 2004 Zoetrope Screenwriting Competition as well. Pearson is also a published author, his non-fiction book The Mobile Revolution can be purchased at Amazon.com. It details the far- reaching changes revolutionizing the mobile world, a world where entertainment can literally be at the touch of one's fingers.
