March 19, 2011 - PRLog -- Bay Area Ambassadors FC of the National Premier Soccer League N.P.S.L are excited for the season to start, as new Head Coach David Bond takes over for the upcoming 2011 Season.

“I am extremely excited about the upcoming Ambassadors season. The club has aspirations to become one of the flagship professional soccer organizations in the country. These aspirations and the commitment level of Tony Igwe and Arif Khan are the main reasons I felt compelled to come on board this campaign” said Bond.

The current San Joaquin Delta College Men's Coach facilitated his programs meteoric rise in the junior college soccer state rankings from 59th to 14th in the course of one season. David brings a wealth of coaching and playing experience to the club. A 1st team all league selection for three years in high school, David earned a full soccer scholarship to play at UOP. After the university dropped the program, he transferred to Cal State Hayward where he had a successful playing career on their nationally ranked soccer team (1986-89).

Bond stated, “this year should be unique in that the club will be bringing in established professional players to enhance the overall level of play.  Players like Jordan Ferrell who just returned from plying his trade in Germany for the last year should not only raise the level of play but also the level of professionalism and polish that the club wishes to attain. Veteran players such as Craig Scheer can impact a young team in a way that can't be quantified. His success in the A-league, MISL, and college speaks to young players in a way that coaches can't. We are fortunate to have these kinds of players with the club this season” said Bond.

Bond went on to play professionally with the North Bay Breakers, CCV Hydra, and Sacramento Scorpions. In 1996 He played on the Chico Rooks squad that finished as U.S.I.S.L national semi-finalist losing to the Charleston Battery in Charleston. David earned a BA degree (Liberal Studies with a minor in Black Studies) and an MA degree (Education/Cross Cultural Teaching). David lives in Stockton with his wife Lisa and children Cody, Camille, and Pilar.

“The club is eager to create a culture of winning.  We would like to win everything we participate in. It’s a paradigm shift that we are facilitating. It’s no accident that Manchester United wins. They have created a winning mentality and culture amongst everyone involved in the organization. That mindset and expectation level is what this club is interested in going forward.”  said Bond.

Season Opener is Sunday, April 2nd.  The kick off time is 6pm at the Chabot Gladiator Stadium at 25555 Hesperian Blvd, Hayward Ca 94545.  Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for Youth and Students.  Kids U-12 are free.  Parking is $2.  Tickets may be purchased online at www.fcbayarea.com or at the Stadium the day of the game.

The National Premier Soccer League is a United States soccer league recognized by the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and FIFA.  The league is officially affiliated with the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) and teams qualify directly for the U.S. Open Cup.  As of 2011 the NPSL consists of 37 teams nationwide.
