Frankfurt, Germany – March 18th, 2011 – The Sound Drive AR-30 and AR-60 acoustic amps will be appearing at the Musik Messe HALLE 4.0 J25 SongHwa amplifier manufacturer booth from April 6th to April 9th 2011.

The acoustic amp offers something new for the acoustic player. With the change in cabinet design, some interesting tonal qualities have come to light. The amp itself is now contained in a clear finished birch cabinet. The birch wood is dense multi-ply board, the same stuff put into your favorite 4X12 cabinet. Only this is clear finished so the wood can be seen, not covered in vinyl, and it looks like an acoustic instrument all by itself.

On a side by side test with this amp in its old vinyl cabinet, and the amp in the new birch cabinet. The sound is tonally different from one cabinet to the other. The clear finished birch wood happens to resonate quite pleasingly and brings warmth to the sound of an acoustic guitar. Also to be noted is a pronounced high end sparkle with a guttural hid mid sharpness that really makes the acoustic tone of this amp snap to life. As well as being an excellent choice for acoustic guitar, you may also put a microphone into the amplifier along with the guitar to have an all in one solo performance setup.

  The 30watt and 60watt amplifiers come with 3 band EQ tone controls, 16 Preset Digital Multi Effector - Delay, Reverb, Chorus, Flanger, 2 channel mix groups via the XLR combi jack, aux inputs for line level MP3 or CD player, Direct output and lineout jack. All of these features are included on the Sound Drive AR-30 and the Sound Drive AR-60.
The AR-30 has a 10” - 30 watt dual voiced speaker, and the AR-60 has a 12” - 60 watt dual voiced speaker.
