ISKCON Culture Camp for the students from March 28,2011 to May 29,2011

A pleasant summer vacation for students amidst culture-values-skill rich ambiance.
 
March 18, 2011 - PRLog -- Its summer time and students have a broad smile on their faces finally. After the rigorous preparation for their examinations and having faced them, here is a wonderful opportunity for the students to enjoy a pleasant summer vacation and gain culture-values-skill rich experience. ISKCON Bangalore`s Cultural Education Services (CES) is conducting a Culture Camp for the students from March 28 ,2011 to May 29 ,2011 in the following batches:

Batch 1: March 28 - April 17

Batch 2: April 18 - May 8

Batch 3: May 9 - May 29

Conceptualized for students of Class 5 to Class 10 and conducted during the summer vacations, Culture Camp has an enjoyable and culturally surcharged environment. This provides a lively and much awaited break for the children while they get trained for a stage performance on the Talents Day held at the end of the 21 day camp and thus avail an opportunity to explore their hidden talents. Students will also learn the principles of Bhagavad-gita, Japa-meditation and Bhajans. Photo and Video session will be held to capture the memorable moments of the Talents Day. Students’ efforts will be recognized by awarding participation certificates to every student and certificates and trophies to the toppers.

The wide range of modules in the camp include Arts and Crafts, Classical dance, Folk dance, Drama , Dance drama, Key board, Guitar, Vocal Music (Carnatic and Hindustani), Yakshagana (Thenku and Badagu), Painting (Glass painting, Water colors, Poster colors, Fabric painting, Pencil shading, Oil colors, Oil pastels and dry pastels, Mixed media) and Vedic Science. A quiz competition to assess the students’ comprehension of the modules imparted to them will be conducted towards the conclusion of the camp. The camp also includes a visit to the ISKCON farm to promote environment consciousness in children.

Camp details:

Timings: 9:15 am – 3:00 pm

Registration fee: Rs 1,200 (exclusive of transportation charges if transportation facility is availed).

Registration closes on a day prior to the commencement of the respective batches.

Pick-up and drop will be provided at mutually convenient pick-up points.

In September 1987, ISKCON Bangalore was operating from a rented house in the city with a handful of devotees.Under the leadership of the Temple President, Sri Madhu Pandit Dasa, ISKCON applied for a 7-acre hillock from the Bangalore Development Authority.
