Complete Your UMSL Business Degree at St. Louis Community College–Wildwood

LOUIS – Through an exclusive partnership, the University of Missouri–St. Louis offers students the opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at St. Louis Community College–Wildwood. This program offers students living in West County the convenience and ease of taking credit courses and obtaining degrees without having to leave their own community.

The key component of this program is its flexibility and ease of getting to and from classes. “By delivering baccalaureate degree completion programs to the students in their communities, we eliminate the thought that getting an UMSL degree is too far of a drive,” said Melissa Hattman, director of Community College Relations.

In addition, with smaller classes, students enjoy more one-on-one time with faculty for their on-campus courses. To enhance their learning experience, students receive their course instruction through various delivery methods during their UMSL program – online, hybrid and face-to-face. And with organized cohorts, the program offers a community of learning peers, providing students with their first network in the business world.

UMSL also has a solid presence on the Wildwood campus. Personnel, including academic advisors, are on-site five days a week to assist all prospective UMSL students, helping with the application and admission process, academic advising and registration.

UMSL College of Business Administration is among 10 percent of programs worldwide with AACSB accreditation, offering high-quality faculty, cutting-edge research, and a strong network of potential employees. The program at Wildwood also provides students this high-quality education at a fraction of the cost compared to other four-year institutions in the state.

A degree in Business Administration through UMSL provides a thorough foundation in several fundamental areas of business, including finance, accounting, information systems, logistics, marketing and management. The program also offers internship opportunities with a broad range of corporate partners, which can lead to job offers for student participants. Recent graduates enjoy positions in banking, manufacturing, information technology and health care as sales representatives, analysts, executive trainees, merchandisers, systems programmers and purchasing agents.

The Wildwood campus also provides UMSL courses leading toward bachelor’s degrees in Elementary Education and Liberal Studies. Currently the facilities at Wildwood can accommodate approximately 2,300 full-time students, with the most recent enrollment numbers reported at or near 2,100. The popularity and awareness of the campus and its programs have caused a steady increase in students. Almost 50% of all students attend full-time. Most students are 25 years old or younger, and the 26 and older population has been increasing.

“Regardless if students are at an onsite location or on main campus, they are UMSL students,” Hattman said. “Our connection with STLCC at Wildwood allows these students to gain a degree from the largest university in the St. Louis area, and at a fraction of the cost of other area universities, all while staying connected to their community.”
