Follow on Google News | Football website the DA wants biggest ever Histon FC away dayTheda.co.uk is looking to create a party atmosphere in the away end of York City v Histon on March 26th for the second time this season, after the Blue Square Premier club Histon set a record of 0 away supporters earlier this year.
By: The DA The site is encouraging football fans from across the nation to come together to create a party atmosphere in the away end at Bootham Crescent, York and has challenged supporters to make some history before the 2010-11 season comes to a close. Histon set a new record at the beginning of the season, taking officially no supporters to their away clash at Wrexham and after a big campaign to gather support, the DA launched it's first 'Histon away day' for the trip to Forest Green late last year, which saw a bumper crowd cheer the team on to a 1-0 victory. Due to the success of the first event, the site is now looking to better the attendance away at York and have promised more of the same, in terms of an atmosphere that drew praise from home club Forest Green themselves. Site editor Craig Woods said 'the first away day was really, really good fun. Histon made us all feel very welcome and we sung our hearts out for 90 minutes with some balloons, horns and drums chucked in for good measure. Some of the atmospheres around the top grounds can seem a bit stale these days, but this is a real football experience, going back to what being a fan is all about.' For more information of the event fans can go to the Facebook event page here http://www.facebook.com/#!/ Woods added 'Bear in mind it's an international weekend on the 26th. So if you want to do something different and live near the area why not come along and get involved? It's all about meeting some new people, drinking some beer and creating a party atmosphere. What better way to spend a Saturday afternoon?' # # # The DA is a popular football blog which FHM labelled 'footballl news with all the funny, and none of the boring, currently owned by global football network theoffside.com End
