Le Bleu & Food Lion Combat Disabilities with Easter Seals

March 17, 2011 - PRLog -- ADVANCE, N. C. - The despair leaks through the statistics. Parents of disabled adult children report that only 11% of their adult children are employed full time. Only 34% are able to manage their finances. Only 30% have the skills to live independently. Almost 7 in 10 disabled adults live with their parents.
Le Bleu and Food Lion have teamed up for the second straight year to donate a percentage of sales to support Easter Seals. Le Bleu’s Ultra Pure Water displays an Easter Seal tag on the Food Lion shelves, stating that each purchase includes Le Bleu donations through Food Lion’s Shop&Care program.
“We want to support the lives of those who face more difficult challenges in life,” said Brock Agee, Vice President of Le Bleu. “Easter Seals helps people with autism, epilepsy, Down’s Syndrome, blindness and so much more.”
Since 1991, Food Lion’s Shop&Care program has raised over $22 million. Over 30,000 families with disabled loved ones have benefited from Easter Seals programs in partnership with Food Lion; and 90% of those revenues go to services in the area where the funds were raised.
