March 16, 2011 - PRLog -- After receiving over 1,200 submissions, the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival has announced 66 selections for the NEW DOCS program.  The program consists of 43 feature films and 23 shorts from all over the world. The lineup features 9 World Premieres, 9 North American Premieres and 7 US Premieres. Nearly all of the films are screening in North Carolina for the first time.

“I am excited to announce our 2011 NEW DOCS selections,” said director of programming, Sadie Tillery. “Each year, over a thousand filmmakers give us the opportunity to review their work, and it’s extremely rewarding to curate a selection of titles that represent a wide breadth of the documentary form.”

The 2011 Full Frame Documentary Film Festival will be held April 14-17, in Durham, N.C., with Duke University as the presenting sponsor. Tickets for programs are available to passholders beginning March 24 and will go on sale at fullframefest.org on April 4.

“It’s essential to us that we offer documentaries a theatrical forum. We’re very honored that that the artists behind these 66 titles have allowed us to showcase their fine work in this significant way,” notes Tillery.

Specific screening times and venues will be announced with the overall schedule on March 24.  For the complete list of NEW DOCS program titles, as well as a short description of each, please visit Full Frame online at http:www.fullframefest.org.
