March 16, 2011 - PRLog -- The Organization of Legal Professionals, a nonprofit industry group that includes some of the most respected eDiscovery and litigation support thought leaders in the field, announced today that eDiscovery veteran and law professor Kirke Snyder has joined the organization’s Board of Governors.

“The OLP is seriously committed to creating standards and increasing competency by educating professionals in the eDiscovery and litigation support industries,” said Chere Estrin, Chair of the OLP’s Board of Directors. “Kirke is a top-notch educator whose support and contribution adds valuable leadership to our organization and exemplary content to our course offerings.”

As a member of the Board of Governors, Snyder will assist the organization with its initiatives to promote excellence and accountability among legal services providers and to further the OLP’s goal to establish eDiscovery and litigation support standards and certifications. Snyder has been redesigning the OLP’s online courses into a “dual-track” option, presenting the same material but in two different levels of intensity. The OLP plans its first certification exam later this year.

Snyder is a professor of law and ethics at Regis University School for Professional Studies in Denver, Colorado. A court-recognized eDiscovery expert, Snyder earned a J.D. and holds a master’s degree in legal administration. He has more than 25-years experience consulting and providing information management and eDiscovery solutions to law firms and corporate law departments.

The OLP drives education and best practices and provides certification for those involved in complex litigation support. Through its programs, the OLP ensures the requisite level of competency in complicated disciplines -- including trial support and eDiscovery -- is met. It is the only organization whose members represent all sectors of the eDiscovery profession: attorneys, paralegals, technical support staff, litigation support professionals, consultants, vendors, software developers and the judiciary.
