March 16, 2011 - PRLog -- It was an "energy-filled" weekend at triOS campuses across Ontario.  triOS Video Game Design and Development students were coding like crazy during the 48-hour Great Canadian Appathon contest.  The competition was presented by XMG Studio Inc. and challenged post secondary students to develop great mobile games.  Winners of the contest will take home up to $45,000 in prizes and job offers from XMG Studio.

The Toronto campus was selected as an official HUB.  It had a comfy TELUS Lounge area, and hosted members from XMG who supported the participants with food runs, tossing them cans of Red Bull, and offering words of encouragement.  Alongside them were Matt Demers from the National Post and Clive Felice from City TV, who came to the Toronto campus HUB to check out the action.  triOS students from London, Kitchener, Hamilton and Mississauga also participated remotely.  It was great gaming across Ontario!

Later this spring, the top three finalists will battle it out at the grand finale held at Yonge Dundas Square in Toronto.  triOS students sparkled in the sea of coders and have a great shot at being finalists.
