"Chakra Rainbow" features Chakra-themed Paintings and Workshops at EventGallery 910Arts in Denver
Exhibition of oil paintings by Shelley Irish portrays balance and imbalance of the chakra energy systems, complemented by chakra-themed film nights and workshops offering techniques to open, heal, and balance the chakras.
Film nights scheduled during the run of the exhibition feature “Healing the Luminous Body: The Way of the Shaman” on Thursday, March 24, and “The Indigo Evolution” on Thursday, April 28. Film nights begin at 7:30 p.m., in the EventGallery 910Arts; showings are free and open to the public.
Workshop enrollment is limited to ensure that every participant receives personal attention. Advance reservation and payment is required at 303-815-1779 for all of the following workshops.
Tibetan Bowl Sound Healing/Chakra Balancing on March 19, from 2 to 4 p.m., is $18 per person. Tibetan bowls are played in the traditional Himalayan method for relaxation and chakra balancing by Claudia Ingraham, RYT, who holds a certificate for advanced sound healing.
Chakra Essence on Wednesday, March 23, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., is $12.50 per person. Performance poet and registered yoga professional Roseanna Frechette infuses the study of chakra energy centers with rich qualities, meaning and vibrancy to encourage health and wellbeing.
Healing Plants for the Chakras, on March 30, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., is $15 per person. Participants become acquainted with the therapeutic properties of plants through hands-on activities with Kim Thompson, a clinical herbalist, and Erica Bryant, a student of reflexology and chakra balancing.
Essence of the Chakras: Hatha Yoga and Young Living Oils on April 2, from 2 to 4, is $15 per person. Certified Hatha Yoga Instructor Karen Boeser incorporates medicinal oils to open and balance the energy centers of the mind, body and spirit.
Healing through Art #1 on April 6, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., is $42 per person and includes art supplies. Chakra Rainbow artist Shelly Irish leads an air journey to cleanse the mind with feather painting, bubble and straw painting, and book making.
Ayurvedic Foods to Nourish Chakras on April 9, from 2 to 4 p.m., is $15 per person. The ancient medical system of ayurveda offers optimum self-care through appropriate foods and knowledge of one’s nature. Instructors are Beth Sanchez, Vinyasa Yoga teacher and vegetarian cooking instructor, and Vicki Johnston, Master of Holistic Nutrition and a personal chef.
Healing through Art #2, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., on April 13, is $42 per person and includes art supplies. A fire journey to cleanse the will includes ash charcoal drawing, batik painting and candle carving led by Chakra Rainbow artist Shelley Irish.
Metaphysical Properties of Stones and Crystals on April 15, from 6 to 8 p.m., is $13 per person. Designer Claudia Ingraham gives a talk on the metaphysical properties of stones and crystals followed by a personal analysis for each participant to determine which stone is most beneficial to maintain chakras in balance. Participants have an option to select a stone and have a custom necklace created, at an additional cost.
Vinyasa Yoga with Tibetan Bowls in Savasana on April 16, from 2 to 4 p.m., is $21 per person. Strength-based Vinyasa flow concluding with 15 minutes of Tibetan bowl relaxation therapy is the ultimate combination of stretching, strengthening, balancing and relaxation. The workshop is presented by Claudia Ingraham, RYT.
Healing through Art #3, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., on April 20, is $42 per person and includes art supplies. Chakra Rainbow artist Shelly Irish leads a water journey to cleanse the heart with drip painting, glass cup etching/painting, and essential oil arm and hand painting.
Opening of Chakras to the Essence of Spring: A Meditation Celebration on April 23, from 2 to 4 p.m., is $17.50 per person. Roseanna Frechette, a performance poet and yoga professional, leads participants to experience the qualities of spring within the chakra energy centers and includes sitting awareness, group discussion, breathwork, stretches and guided meditation.
Healing through Art #4, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., on April 27, is $42 per person and includes art supplies. An earth journey to cleanse the body includes sculpture, henna foot painting, and dirt, branch and found object collage led by Chakra Rainbow artist Shelley Irish.
Healing through Art #5, from 2 to 4 p.m., on April 30, is $42 per person and includes art supplies. Chakra Rainbow artist Shelley Irish leads participants on a spirit journey to cleanse the spirit with wishing powder, spirit flag and spirit symbol/prayer plaque art.
