INDIE VIXENS® Host Music-N-Mix® happy hours, music showcases, screen films and music videos in "The Suite®" in Austin, TX during SXSW. A percentage of all proceeds will benefit Red Cross and CCA's Blue Note Fund.

March 15, 2011 - PRLog -- In Austin, during SXSW, INDIE VIXENS® is making a conscience effort to support Red Cross' Tsunami Relief as well as Colon Cancer Alliance’s Blue Note Fund. On March 14, 2011 at 3:00 pm they are kicking off festivities by hosting a Music-N-Mix happy hour in "the Suite®"  on 6th Street in Austin, TX.  INDIE VIXENS® attempt to align social  change awareness or "interactive philanthropy,"  into all of their actions.  INDIE VIXENS® are global philanthropists who contribute to education, environment, health and personal development.  

Ramoth- Gilead will perfrom during the second half of the happy hour event.  While in attendance at "The Suite®," INDIE VIXENS® are encouraging guests to text 90999 and donate $10 dollar  to the Red Cross throughout the day.   On March 14, 2011 all events are open to the pubic, and portion of all drinks and donations collected will be donated to the Red Cross.  INDIE VIXENS Sessions® Film Nitz® will feature screenings from USC students and graduates.  Music Nitz® which begins at 9:00 pm will feature: The Smoking Guns, Ben Baxter Band and Dynamite Walls.  

'The Suite®," will host various private events celebrating the "Who's Who: Women in Technology, Film, Media, and Music and hold a benefit concert for the Colon Cancer Alliance's Blue Note Fund on March 15, 2011.  Tickets for the concert are $10 and can be purchased at the door.   Artists performing throughout the day on March 15, 2011 include emerging and established artists: Meagan Tubb, Sore Losers, Lindsay Rae Spurlock,  Or Well, Christine Lyons, Austin Hartley - Leonard, Andy Clockwise, and Standing Shadows.  Music videos will be screened featuring: Jozi, Allen Stone, Kitty Kitty Bang Bang, Lucy Schwartz and others.

During INDIE VIXENS® Midnight Film Nitz®, a living room style screening of the dvd/rockumentary by the artist,  "MYSELF," titled,`History In The Making of Punk Floyd,' will occur. The rockumentary was produced by Myself and Hitomi O and directed by James Wade.  Special appearances were made by Norwood & Fish of Fishbone, Rocky George of Suicidal Tendencies, Ivan Neville,Greg Bell, and Leon Mobley of Ben Harper.  The project was mixed and engineered by platinum Grammy winning engineers Sylvia Massy and Rich Veltrop. Special selections from "Hollywood Shorts," will be screened as well.  A great opportunity for people to mingle, enjoy cocktails, watch film and network.

"The Suite®," is an interactive “On Location” membership/public hangout style venue enabling fashion, media, tech, and brand professionals to interact with A-list talent, cutting edge emerging artists, non profits, music and film professionals. As entrepreneurs and business strategists who specialize in "bridging the gap" between creativity and business, INDIE VIXENS® goal is to raise awareness of various social change causes, and health related issues via film, music, and technology resources during national events and festivals. 

INDIE VIXENS® collaborated with USC film graduates, "Hollywood Shorts," music managers, and music supervisor Julia Henry to provide a diverse platform of content and experiences at "The Suite®" while they are in Austin.  Julia Henry is an official SXSW panelist and will be speaking on the "Music In Sports" panel on Friday, March 18, 2011 during SXSW.  Julia is on the advisory council for INDIE VIXENS® Beyond The Music Label Series® which currently has a monthly residence in San Francisco (The Boom Boom Room), Park City (The Sidecar), and will kick off it's  seven month Austin residency on March 15, 2011.  Musicians have been submitting their information via "Sonicbids," in order for a chance to receive an assessment by the founder who has spent several years launching new innovative products for various software and biotechnology companies.  Sparks, requested that all artists be able to submit their information for free versus being charged to participate.  

Beyond The Music Label Series® was created  to bridge the gap between music, brands, film, television and non profit entities this live band alliance platform enables bands and audiences an opportunity to aid with providing "out of the box" ideas to bands as to how to identify and market their band as a brand.  "In todays'  industry it is important for bands to identify how they can maintain sustainability beyond just being talented and getting signed to a music label," states Jewell Sparks.  As a business consultant and strategist, she helps bands, brands and organizations, identify opportunities for diversification that quite frequently are overlooked by creatives who love doing what they do.  Financial resources and support are important for survival," states Sparks.
