March 14, 2011 - PRLog -- "a story of life" is an exhibition of sculptures and paintings by Julia Rivera, also featuring photography by Catherine Gonzalez and Stephanie Hatzakos. It is representative of our experiences in life recording every moment of every day's events, places and things. These three ladies have built a friendship based on a common love for art and it's enriching role in not only their life but that of their friends and family. Together they created this exhibition to make their art accessible  to everyone.

Please join us for an opening reception with the artist and an evening of art, conversation, wine and hors d' oeuvres.

Catherine Gonzales is Project  Director at Thornton Tomasetti with bachelor degrees from New york Institute of Technology and the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico. They were founded in 1956, today Thornton Tomasetti is a 550-person organization of engineers and architects collaborating from offices across the United States and in Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Catherine will be presenting her photography of her travels.

Stephanie Hatzakos was featured in Focus:Passages which presented the unexpected photo's from a community of photographers who embrace and encourage our infatuation with the visual image. Focus:Passages delved into the photographic community’s passion for the evocative power of doors, tunnels, and other passageways: bright city doors; moss-covered hideaways; underground tunnels; stained-glass cathedral entries; open or closed, each passage has a story to tell or questions to ask. "As a photographer and wandering spirit", says Stephanie Hatzakos, "I view doors as symbols of possibility and hope."

Julia was born in the Bronx, New York. She received her Masters of Art at SACI in Florence, Italy, specializing in the restoration of 17th century paintings. She is a member of the Art Students League in Manhattan, NY - a group of concentrating in realist sculpturing and molds. Her work has been exhibited in the Ecole De Bellas Artes in Paris (1995), the San Jose Palace, San Jose, Costa Rica (1996), and the Annual SACI Exhibition in Florence, Italy (1997), and she is permanently represented by Pamil Fine Art in San Juan, Puerto Rico since 1994.

Her most notable solo exhibition was featured in 2000 at the Museam of Latin Art in Miami, Florida. She now works and lives in New Jersey with her husband Emilio II and son Emilio III.
