McNeill Designs’ games are now part of the permanent museum collection at The Strong

March 14, 2011 - PRLog -- Wilmington, Delaware, March 14, 2011 – Two of McNeill Designs for Brighter Minds’ best-selling games, the word game You’ve been Sentenced! and the memory game Twisted Fish, were recently added to the permanent collection at The Strong, the world’s most comprehensive collection of historical materials related to play.

“Inclusion of our games by The Acquisition Committee is an incredible honor,” says McNeill Designs for Brighter Minds CEO Donald McNeill. “The Strong is devoted to preserving for future generations the rich history and diversity of play – from well known, traditional offerings like Monopoly, Sorry, and Scrabble to “the new classics” like You’ve been Sentenced! and Twisted Fish.”
   
Located in Rochester, New York, The Strong displays thousands of play-related objects throughout the museum building. The exhibitions are open to the public, as well as researchers and collectors.

In addition to the collection, The Strong has five programmatic arms called “Play Partners.” These are the National Museum of Play, the International Center for the History of Electronic Games, the National Toy Hall of Fame, the Brian Sutton-Smith Library and Archives of Play, and the American Journal of Play.

Following up its success with You’ve been Sentenced, McNeill Designs’ has added the memory game Twisted Fish, You’ve been Sentenced! themed add-on decks, and more to its roster of products. Most recently, the firm announced the launch of a NASA Space Terminology Deck themed add-on deck for the You’ve been Sentenced! word game.

For the new deck McNeill Designs signed a Space Act Agreement with The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and produced the new deck in conjunction with NASA’s Education Department. Together, the two chose words that reflected the rich history and future of NASA and space exploration.
