Akadema Signs Los Angeles Dodgers’ Vicente Padilla to Glove Contract

March 14, 2011 - PRLog -- Hawthorne, NJ – March 14, 2011 – Akadema is happy to announce its re-signing Los Angeles Dodger starting pitcher Vicente Padilla to a glove contract for the 2011 MLB Season. While Padilla began his career in Arizona Diamondbacks organization, he has since played for Phillies, Rangers and Dodgers, highlighted by an All-Star Game selection in 2002 when he finished the year with a 3.28 ERA. The 33 year-old righty Padilla is currently recovering from right arm surgery and will battle for the fifth spot in the Dodgers’ pitching rotation upon his return in May.  The LA Dodgers begin their season at home against the defending World Series Champion San Francisco Giants on March 31st.
