IAU was formed to assist the unsigned/independent artist successfully promote themselves and expand their fanbase, while being able to distribute their art to an enthusiastic crowd of art supporters. With the current arrangement, mass media pre-screens and selects what consumers will watch, listen, and be entertained by, with the advent of internet media there has been some breakdown or loosening of the reins controlled by conglomerate media. Independent Artists United intends to break those reins and give control back to the people.

was founded in 2010, by artists Nicholas Logan and Shaun Yager. IAU was formed to assist the Independent artist, and capture the attention of the art enthusiast.
Within IAU, artists and fans will have the ability to connect with each other, stay informed of current activities, collaborate and explore, as well as have access to listings of Artistic Resources including galleries, music halls, theatres, stores, and other services for the Independent Artist and Fan. With these attributes, we feel that not only will artists have the ability to advertise and sell their art on the site, but further their personal goals and creativity as well.
No matter what the medium you use to express your talents, our goal is to provide the tools and resources necessary to successfully self-promote and distribute your art to fans that appreciate your gifts. With the tools provided by IAU, we hope that the Independent Artists can bring their Art to an ever expanding and Interactive group of supporters.
We hope to, one day, provide to the world, independent alternatives that open the eyes and minds of the current mainstream following. To do this, we must motivate fans to support independents, through awareness and exposure. We as artists can change the way the world views art, and in turn, change the way the world views artists.
