March 13, 2011 - PRLog -- Take your seat at the “Kit Kat Klub,” the seedy cabaret where an aspiring American writer, encounters British singer Sally Bowles. As they join in the pursuit of a life of pleasure in Weimar Berlin, the world outside the Klub begins to splinter as Hitler rises to power.

The reviews are just starting to roll in for this fabulous performance based on the 1966 Broadway show of the same name, and the 1972 film starring Liza Minelli, now directed by Wendy Knox, the amazing life force of Frank Theatre.

"This is one of the biggest productions that we have tackled with a cast of 20 actors, and a seven-piece band, and we're getting great reviews" says Ms Knox, "One of the reviews says, “Knox squeezes more flesh and bone onto the small Showboat stage than seems possible,” and I gotta say, ain’t that the truth! How we get 20 people dancing on that lovely postage-stamp sized stage is a wonder. And with Bonnie Bottoms choreography, Kathy Kohl’s truly fantastic costumes, and Mike Croswell's musical direction, it’s kind of a feast for the eye—and ear!"

The StarTribune scores a couple of points: “Bradley Greenwald consumes this delicious avatar of decadence ... insouciantly poking fun at himself and his club mates. Sexy, dangerous chorus girls and rouged, dandy chorus boys all respond to his prompt.… Kathy Kohl's costumes serve a dual purpose, festooning these oddballs and turning them into human scenery.”

Howwastheshow.com says: “Bradley Greenwald played an exquisite and delightfully depraved Emcee… Sara Richardson’s Sally Bowles was adorable and naughty… Melissa Hart …was positively breathtaking… Knox has chosen a diverse cast to otherwise populate this bizarre environment. They’re not only incredibly good, they make us forget how demanding this show must be – and wow, are they an interesting bunch!”

City Pages quips: “Both a versatile actor and singer, Greenwald is the perfect choice for our guide through the anything-goes world of 1931 Berlin… Along with Greenwald, the real stars here are Melissa Hart as Fraulein Schneider and Patrick Bailey as Herr Schultz. The two have great chemistry … It's easy to overplay the musical's dark heart, but director Wendy Knox employs a deft hand, letting the story play out …”

Tcdailyplanet.net puts it succinctly: “Whether you have never seen Cabaret or have seen it umpteen times, Frank Theatre's production merits your attention.”
