Follow on Google News | Treloar's Disabled School Recieve Overwhelming Response to Buy-a-Brick CampaignLaunched at the start of this year, the campaign - which is supported by tv gardener Alan Titchmarsh - enables supporters of Treloar’s to literally cement their gift into history.
By: Treloar Disabled School The bricks will be placed in a specially created, attractive paved meeting place at the heart of the campus. This will allow all students to enjoy it, and it is anticipated that all bricks will be cemented in place by the end of summer 2012. Alan Titchmarsh, who has been a supporter and patron of Treloar’s for the last decade, visited the School to launch the appeal. He said: "The passion and expertise of the staff at Treloar’s gives the students the opportunity to live their lives to the full and make a positive contribution." "Meeting students and seeing first hand what they can achieve in all areas of their lives has been an enjoyable experience and I am pleased to be associated with such a forward-looking charity." So far literally thousands of pounds has flooded in for the appeal, but with an ambitious fundraising target of £3 million to make Vision Treloar’s become a reality, the charity is still looking for others to pledge their support. Director of External Affairs, Vanessa Casey, said: "We’d like to thank all of our supporters who have donated to this appeal and are helping to build a future for our students. We are grateful for their contribution, which will fund facilities to help our students reach their full potential and make a positive impact on society."
