March 11, 2011 - PRLog -- NEW plans have been unveiled for the redevelopment of an established retirement village in Great Easton.

With building work on a new 60 bed care home at The Moat House in its final three months, phase two of the plans are now forging ahead. Owners of the site – Retirement Village Ltd – have released sketches showing a new enhanced version of the current Moat House building which they hope to build.

Architectural features such as the bell tower and the round summer house will be replicated in the new building which will house 25 one and two bedroom extra care apartments. There will also be multi-function communal areas including restaurant space.

The plans will be on show at a public exhibition on Monday, 4th April, from 4pm to 7.30pm at Great Easton Primary School, Snow Hill, Great Easton. Anyone interested in finding out more or speaking to representatives of Retirement Village Ltd and their consultants is invited to drop in.

“These latest plans are an enhanced version of what we already have planning permission for,” said Development Director James Puckering. “We are keen to work with our neighbours in Great Easton and the surrounding area to keep them informed and to hear their thoughts and views about our plans. We’re part of the community and continued engagement with that community is very important to us.”

The plans will be on show during the exhibition after which, subject to further amendments, they will be submitted to Uttlesford District Council.

Retirement Villages Ltd has been developing and managing bespoke lifestyle and care villages for the over 55s for 30 years. The pioneers of the UK model, the company now has approaching 2,000 residents living in 12 locations spread across 10 counties in the south of the country.
