March 10, 2011 - PRLog -- "Public-Private partnerships are nothing new and are a smart way for local municipalities to manage their resources" said Somerset County Tea Party founder Jim Lefkowitz.

At stake is the opportunity to save Franklin taxpayers money. The United Water business model proposed for Franklin Township that the unions are opposing does not involve “taking over” the water system. It is not a sale of the water system. In Franklin, as in the majority of public/private  engagements, United would work as professional water services providers.

"When I see the public workers union providing false information to protect jobs at the taxpayers expense, well that's just wrong" Lefkowitz said, referring to Food & Water Watch's Jim Welch's comments at this Tuesday's council meeting. " I personally think it's unconscionable when a public union advocacy group disguises itself as an environmental protection group. I applaud Councilman Chase for calling him out on his deception.

Lefkowitz is calling on all Tea Party members to get involved in this issue and support Franklin's efforts to reduce the size of government, provide efficiencies and save taxpayers money.

"Attend meetings, get the facts and don't be deceived. Bad things happen when citizens are not involved in their local government" Lefkowitz said.
