March 9, 2011 - PRLog -- LONGWOOD, FLA. — Last weekend, more than 23,000 people heard Nicholas Vujicic speak at Northland Church. Born with no arms and no legs, Vujicic has traveled the world and shared his story with millions of people.

Northland was originally expecting 15,000 people to attend services over the weekend. Instead, more than 15,000 showed up just in Longwood, with an additional 6,400 people watching live online from every state and 78 countries. More than 400 people made decisions for Christ.

Preaching from Jeremiah 29:11, Vujicic encouraged those in attendance to find their value and purpose in God. He said that even though God hasn’t changed his circumstances, he still believes in miracles.

“I’ve got a pair of shoes in my closet just in case He says yes to me,” Vujicic said smiling.

He then talked about the man in John 9 who was born blind “so that the works of God might be displayed in him. I said, ‘God, if you have a plan for a blind man, you have a plan for me.’”

Originally from Brisbane, Australia, Vujicic recently moved to California, where he is the president of an international non-profit organization called Life Without Limbs (http://www.lifewithoutlimbs.org). He recently starred in the award-winning movie short, “The Butterfly Circus” (http://www.thebutterflycircus.com), which has been selected for feature film development.

During his time in Central Florida, Nick also spoke at high school assemblies at Lake Mary and Lyman High School, focusing on self image and inclusion of everyone.

Representatives from other churches throughout the state of Florida also attended services last weekend, seeking to create a more welcoming environment for individuals and families with disabilities. Through its Access Ministries, Northland is privileged to have special needs children joining in its children’s church (http://www.northlandchurch.net/ministries/buddy_break) and a new, integrated youth and young adult ministry called Young Life Capernaum. Additionally, there are monthly family activities for families with children with disabilities and services of various sorts for parents, from respite care to support groups.

The service with Nick Vujicic is available to view online at http://www.northlandchurch.net/media.
