Michigan Lexus Dealer Delivers First LFA Nationwide

March 8, 2011 - PRLog -- A Michigan Lexus dealer’s customer recently accepted delivery on the fifth Lexus LFA to be produced—which was the very first LFA to be delivered in the United States.

This Meade Lexus of Lakeside ( http://www.lexusoflakeside.com ) customer took delivery in Florida, currently making this Pearl Grey supercar the only LFA in the Sunshine State. The customer will be returning to the Metro Detroit area in the spring, however, so Tri-county area drivers just might catch a glimpse in the near future.

The Lexus LFA, unveiled 22 years after the first-ever Lexus, brings a distinctively different flavor to the Lexus brand.

“For Lexus, a brand that aims to provide customers enlightened moments and memorable experiences, the development of a world-class supercar was an indispensable next step,” says Haruhiko Tanahashi, chief engineer of product planning at the Lexus Development Center.

Only 500 units will be built, at a maximum rate of only 20 per month due to each one being hand-built by a team of skilled craftsmen. The unique sound of the LFA’s 552-horsepower engine, which contributes to the vehicle’s top-speed potential of 200+mph, can be witnessed in the popular glass-shattering commercial, “Pitch”, that played prior to the vehicle’s release.
