Rainy holiday website launches in UK

Whilst sun, sea and sand are a preference for many when booking a holiday, a new website has finally launched to cater for those looking for a rainy affair.

March 7, 2011 - PRLog -- A new site has been launched in the UK, for holidaymakers looking for something other than sun and warm temperatures. www.Rain.co.uk is now live, offering an overview of the best places in the UK for holidaymakers to visit if they want to actively avoid the sun and embrace the more traditional side to the British weather; rain.

For a very long time, consumers have been able to select their holiday locations based on the average hours of sunlight, temperatures and even the distance from the beach and, therefore, sun loungers. All that can now be forgotten, thanks to rain.co.uk, which is ‘like www.sunshine.co.uk, but wetter’.

After receiving a number of queries from customers relating to the weather on their holiday and many claiming it was ‘just too hot’ to enjoy, the founders of sunshine.co.uk came up with the idea of rain.co.uk; an answer to their problem.

Users can compare the expected rainfall in UK destinations, such as Manchester and Edinburgh, with locations abroad, like Magaluf and Ayia Napa, to ensure they are getting the best deal and more rain for their money. Customers of rain.co.uk will also be ‘traffic jam assured’, so users can guarantee that they will enjoy queues on the UK’s roads en route to their destination.

The ‘wet weather guarantee’ available on rain.co.uk also ensures that customers will not be disappointed. Customers needn’t worry if their chosen holiday destination fails to deliver the promised rainfall, as rain.co.uk guarantees wet weather for 50% of the holiday. For those looking for something a little warmer, there’s always sunshine.co.uk.

A spokesperson at rain.co.uk commented on the site’s launch,

“Sunshine.co.uk is dedicated to providing customers with their ultimate holiday. Whilst most opt for sun, sea and sand, we were inundated with people complaining about the 20-something degree temperatures and the jealously from friends and family about the tans they achieved. They just wanted rain.

“What the people want, the people get; and so rain.co.uk was born. Finally, a site that clearly shows people where in the UK they should head for the rainiest holiday. Ultimately, that’s what everyone really wants out of a holiday and we’re very excited to be able to offer it.”
