Steelhenge business continuity expert to speak at BCI event about social media and crisis management
Steelhenge Consulting confirms that Drew Gibson, consultant and social media expert in the business continuity and crisis management team, will speak at a London BCI Forum event on how to utilise social media as part of a crisis response.
By: Isobel Nicholas
"We're delighted to announce that Drew will be speaking at the BCI London Forum," said Isobel Nicholas, Director of Communications for Steelhenge. "As active partners of the Business Continuity Institute, we welcome the opportunity to contribute to Forum events. They bring together a range of industry professionals and create an excellent opportunity for knowledge sharing and lively debate."
"As an expert on social media and crisis response," Isobel continued, "Drew will be giving a presentation titled: 'Social Media - how to use it in a crisis, and how to respond to a crisis that begins in social media.' The speed at which news breaks across social networks can elicit a reaction and create a discussion in the public domain before the crisis has even been fully reported and understood by the organisations involved," Isobel explained. "That's why understanding the use of social media is of critical importance for those managing reputation in a crisis, and why Drew's talk will be of great value to the attendees of the event," Isobel concluded.
