Rankin Ranch To Open April 8th With Family Fun For All During Spring Break

Historic Rankin Ranch located in scenic Walker’s Basin deep in the heart of the Tehachapi Mountains is set to open its 46th guest ranch season on April 8th, 2011 with family fun for all during Spring Break. The annual event running from April 8th to 29th is filled with activities like horseback riding, hay wagon rides, Barbeques, children’s activities and much more.

The 31,000-acre slice of California heaven has been a working cattle ranch since 1863 when Walker Rankin Sr. began raising white-faced Herefords. Raising cattle is still the family business 148 years later. But for the last four decades, the Rankin family has opened the ranch for six months of the year to weekend cowboys and nature lovers from across the country and around the world and is doing so again on April 8th, 2011.

Hi Rankins!

First, thanks again for a great time. Our year wouldn’t be the same without this trip. People have wondered why we go to the same place every year, but they’ll never understand unless they’ve been there. After 14 years and 18 visits, it’s really become a second home. And what lessons everyone can learn from each of you – that of hardwork, dedication, warmth, humility and serving others. You really do put most of us to shame. So just know that all of that is greatly appreciated.
