Carbon Neutral Energy Group: Republicans plan to introduce a bill to stop EPA climate rules.

March 3, 2011 - PRLog -- Carbon Neutral Energy Group has learned that the bill is to be introduced by Senator James Inhofe, a climate skeptic who is currently writing a book on global warming titled “The Hoax” and Representative Fred Upton, the chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

Officials have indicated that Obama is likely to veto a bill that permanently blocks the EPA on climate administration. The U.S. president has promised the world that the U.S. will cut its CO2 emissions to around 17% below 2005 levels by 2020.

The bill is likely to receive support from three Democrats in the House, Collin Peterson, Nick Rahall and Dan Boren, who have indicated their support for the bill, but the Republicans will still be seeking to have at least one Democrat from the Senate on their side when the bill is introduced.

The bill, of which Carbon Neutral Energy Group understands a draft copy was released in early February by Inhofe and Upton, will probably be voted on first in the Republican-controlled House, and if passed there, Republicans will hope it gathers sufficient momentum in the Senate to convince a few Democrats from industrial states facing tough elections in 2012 to throw their weight behind it.

Almost all Senate Republicans are expected to support the bill.

Carbon Neutral Energy Group sources report that many analysts predict that the bill will face an uphill battle because a permanent blockage of the EPA regulations is too harsh in scope to get the necessary 60 votes to pass it through the Senate.

In January this year the EPA began requiring big industries to hold permits for emitting greenhouse gases, widely seen as the first step to regulating emissions.
