March 3, 2011 - PRLog -- A new form of brain training that promises to boost business skills by up to 50 per cent will have its UK debut in Glasgow this weekend.

The technique, known as the 'Silva Ultramind System', is the latest trend sweeping America and looks set to do the same in Scotland and the rest of the UK in coming months.

Employees who perform a simple set of mental training exercises every morning could work up to 50 per cent harder and more efficiently, it is claimed.

They must find what is known as the “alpha” brain state, which they can do whilst at their desks or behind a computer.

Glasgow-based brain-training expert Biodun Ogunyemi, who is spearheading the ‘movement’ in Scotland, claims city businesses which adopt the technique could double their turnover within 12 months.

He said: “The Silva Ultramind System can be used by anybody to increase their mental abilities and boost their intuition – a vital skill in business when it comes to making important decisions.

“Though it may seem counter-intuitive to suggest that by entering a mental state more associated with daydreaming and sleep people can actually increase their levels of alertness, studies show it does work.

“I learnt the Silva system nearly 20 years ago when I was working in financial services and have found it fantastically rewarding. From the start it gave me a business advantage by enhancing my day-to-day performance.”

The Silva Method is named after American José Silva, who spent over 50 years researching human interaction and how the mind works.

He believed that over the course of human evolution, the brain had developed to the point where it could rapidly handle and retain “vast quantities” of information – if properly trained.

His studies suggested that the brain was more capable of receiving and storing data when less active and devised methods to keep the mind alert at these lower frequencies, known as alpha waves.

Silva died in 1999, aged 84, but not before he had put together a working system based on his theories, known as the UltraMind Esp System.

Mr Ogunyemi, Silva UltraMind Esp Systems Director UK, will be running a two-day seminar about the techniques in the Novotel Hotel, Pitt Street, Glasgow, on March 5 and 6. Tickets cost £350 for pre- registration.

The father-of-three, 42, said the seminar – the first of its kind in Britain – will also teach techniques that can be used to enhance personal relationships and promote healing, both of the self and others.

“The Silva system brings benefits in all aspects and is therefore of equal use to companies, professionals and individuals who want to maximise their potential.

“The seminar delivers a healthy mixture of theory and practice and we offer full support after the initial training so people really get the most from their new skills.
