Law Professor and eDiscovery Expert Kirke Snyder to Redesign OLP Courses

Kirke Snyder redesigns OLP courses into dual tracks, one to provide continuing education credits and the other to prepare students for rigorous certification exam.

March 2, 2011 - PRLog -- The Organization of Legal Professionals, a nonprofit industry group that includes some of the most respected eDiscovery and litigation support thought leaders in the field, announced today that it has engaged eDiscovery veteran and law professor Kirke Snyder to redesign its online courses to follow the subject matter and sequence of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM). The redesign implements a “dual-track” option, presenting the same material but in two different levels of intensity.

“Executive Track courses will be appropriate for those students who want to learn more about the topics and earn continuing education credit,” said Chere Estrin, who chairs the OLP’s Board of Directors. “Students seeking eDiscovery certification though the OLP’s groundbreaking examination are encouraged to enroll in the Technical Track classes because they provide the substantive information useful for future certification testing.”

Snyder is a professor of law and ethics at Regis University School for Professional Studies in Denver, Colorado. A court-recognized eDiscovery expert, Snyder earned a J.D. and holds a master’s degree in legal administration. He has more than 25-years experience consulting and providing information management and eDiscovery solutions to law firms and corporate law departments.

The Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) Project was created in 2005 to address the lack of standards and guidelines in the eDiscovery market. The completed reference model provides a common, flexible and extensible framework for the development, selection, evaluation and use of electronic discovery products and services. More information about EDRM is available at www.edrm.net.

“As the eDiscovery and litigation support industries continue to evolve rapidly, we are constantly anticipating future needs and realigning our offerings to ensure professionals are ahead of the curve,” said Estrin. “Kirke’s depth of knowledge and vast experience will help us keep our courses on the cusp of emerging legal technology and expertise.”
