Engineered for superior pressure redistribution and durability, the new formula TUFFease® gel products utilize a proprietary, plant oil-based blend that doesn’t rely entirely on petroleum. Most other gel pads on the market are made with petroleum-based formulas. Besides the environmental benefit, some of the new TUFFease® gel shaped product’s bottom surface is more durable than other pressure redistribution products because of an added thickness that helps prevent damage or tearing when the pad is being moved or placed in storage. The increased durability can lead to longer use, thus cost savings, in hospital operating and recovery rooms where pressure redistribution products are necessary to help prevent pressure ulcers.

In addition to its increased durability, the new IMP gel pad has been produced with a sleeker, shinier, surface material to alleviate skin shear and give greater protection against skin breakdown.
