Sleep apnea is another term meaning slow breath or temporarily-stopping of breath during rest. The people who suffer from this kind of disorder do not realize that they stop breathing during a night sleep. They simply find that in the next morning they feel easily fatigued. Another effect of this kind of disorder is threatening on the heart.

Typically, there are two types of sleep apnea. The first one is known as the obstructive sleep apnea which is mainly caused by muscles in throat. Compared to the second type, this is the most common to most of the people. The muscles in the throat block the airways. It causes the brain to get less oxygen. It happens in a short period of time so that they don't remember it.

The second and the less common type is central sleep apnea. It involves the malfunction of the signal from the brain. While sleeping, the brain gets a temporary delay in signal transmissions to the breathing muscles. It can cause a slight pause in breathing so that your body awakens with short breath or headache. Sleep apnea can be potential to cause heart disease. When the oxygen weakens in the blood, the carbon dioxide levels are raised. It sends a signal to the brain to increase the rate of the heart. Then, the brain will react by releasing the hormone which is called as epinephrine or adrenaline. With the increasing circulation of epinephrine, the heart rate will increase and the blood pressure will increase as well.

The changes of the heart rate will lead the heart to malfunctioning. The continuous changes of the heart rate will damage the tissue of the heart muscle. The combination of the heart rate changes and the chronic oxygen shortage is able to damage the heart tissue which is potential to cause heart attack as well as heart disease.

Another effect of sleep apnea is arrhythmias. It is mainly caused by the erratic heart beat due to the irregular heart fire. The heart has two ventricles and two atria which work together to pump the blood with oxygen through the arteries. If this action cause erratic beat, the arrhythmias will occur. Usually, the upper chambers of the heart (the atria) will beat chaotically which is called as fibrillation. It is potential to cause improper blood output to body.

Sleep apnea is also potential to cause coronary artery disease. It caused mainly by the calcium buildup which line the arteries. The increasing blood pressure which is caused by sleep apnea can make the blood vessels more vulnerable to the disease due to the damage tissue and oxygen shortage. This kind of disease is able to cause sudden heart attack and stroke. Try Internet #1 - Sleep Apnea Effects On Brain @ http://insomniacure01.webs.com and kill your Insomnia Forever.
