-- Nashville, California - For over 20 years, Ben Krahne has been involved in music in one way or another. Having traveled far and wide for what he describes as the ‘pursuit of happiness’ Krahne has finally made Nashville, California his home. Wanting nothing more than to write and make music, he has used his hometown as the basis for his latest album. Grounded and perpetually analyzing the world around him, Krahne brilliantly outlines the human experience in musical form. Highlighting triumph and tragedy with a positive outlook is just a part of what makes his album “Nashville California” so captivating.
He describes the formulation of his music as something that starts with relaxing and playing the six-string. “Usually what happens when trying to make sense of it all is that I will play my guitar to relax my mind, and like magic a chorus or verse comes out of nowhere. It’s a very strange experience, I’m always surprised every time it happens,” he states.
Possessing a natural affinity for writing songs and eager to share his experiences, Krahne decided to study the craft of songwriting. The combination of natural musicianship and a love for his art makes for a compelling brand of Folk-Acoustic music which is both unique and overwhelmingly sincere. Krahne also draws a lot of his inspiration and material from other residents of the city. Oftentimes, other residents will drop by and help him craft a song by adding lyrics, instrumentals, or any input that may enhance the track. The end result is a finely tuned piece of music inspired in part by folks from Nashville, California.
“Nashville California” is one of those albums that was just destined to be. Krahne describes that every track is a result of the natural progression of his life and career. “I don’t just sit down and say I'm going to write a song about love or not being loved. They are all inspired by life’s ups and downs of falling in and out of love. I've played all over California, and abroad,” he said.
