Feb. 25, 2011 - PRLog -- Friday 25th February 2011.Here in Great Britain and the rest of the World, drivers are going to have to pay huge increases in the price of tyres. The main reason for this, is the very high price increase of natural rubber, which is at a historical heights. Tyres use about 42% rubber in the production, the rest being of steel and oil. Rubber prices are rising because of a disappointing harvest whist metal makers Arcelor Mittal are raising prices because of the high demand of metal coming from China and other emerging markets. Oil makes up the rest of the tyre, we all know that oil is well over $100 a barrel.
This along with the weakening of the American dollar will lead to tyre prices rising by 6 to 7 % here in the UK. Truck tyres are expected to rise by up to almost 8% and tractor tyres by about 9%.visit http://www.pellonautocentre.com
Michelin tyres have dropped by about 20% this year due to market uncertainty and slower market growth affecting their profit margins to below the expected predictions.
Raw rubber prices have risen to just below 3$ a pound, a new record high and the prices wont be easing in the future.
Goodyear tyres in America faced with the same problems as every other tyre company, are trying new materials in an effort to curb their massive material costs. Michelin tyres are looking to cooperate with a Chinese company to grow more latex plantations in China.
China is also contributing to the problem, due to its even higher demand for tyres in the home market. More Chinese consumers are able to afford cars and so the demand for tyres,  means higher imports of raw materials helping increase demands and pushing up prices. This is causing a double hammy because the increasing demand for cheap tyres from the West,  is also sucking in imports of raw materials into China.
All in all further tyre prices will be coming along later in 2011, Eric Roberts says”any one thinking of buying tyres should do so as soon as possible, to save money and try not to resort to part worn tyres,  new cheap tyres are are a much better option, and safer”.  Here at  http://www.pellonautocentre.com we are Offering Kumho tyres at Special Prices to beat the up coming price increases.news  We are also proud to announce that we are now a PREMIER GARAGE service for Tesco Tyres and Black Circle tyres.
