Feb. 24, 2011 - PRLog -- The phrase mergers and acquisitions (abbreviated M&A) refers to the aspect of corporate and private  strategy with the buying, selling and combining of different companies that can aid, finance, or help a growing company in a given industry grow rapidly without having to create another business entity. Global mergers and acquisitions activity is expected to rocket upward 36% next year to $3.04 trillion, getting its strength from the financial and real estate industries, according to a report released Monday by Thomson Reuters and Freeman Consulting Services. Such an increase in M&A activity hasn't been seen since the credit crisis brought markets to their knees a few years ago. Back in 2006, global M&A rose 32% to $3.63 trillion.

Cash-rich companies are in excellent financial position to increase their dividends, buy back their own shares, make prudent acquisitions of weaker competitors, and invest in research and development. Their assests could also be worth more over the later part of the year. The most desired deal drivers and business acquisitions of 2011 continue to be manufacturing, automotive and resteraunts.  Cross-border expansion and the pursuit of strategic technologies to satisfy business growth objectives were growing business trends that drove deals.

“To lead your organization in today's challenging economic climate, you need fact-based solutions that you and others can believe in. Traditional approaches to decision support have not yielded optimal results,” commented Rick Kieser, Senior Advisor for RW Webb Consulting. “We are using analytics to track all visitor activity to business opportunities developing accurate trend reports that impact business sales in Southern Arizona and the Tucson Metro Area.  Evolved from the application of computers to the analysis of data and this takes place within an information system or software environment. Mathematics underpins the algorithms used in analytics - the science of analytics is concerned with extracting useful properties of data using computable functions and typically will involve extracting properties from large data bases Analytics therefore bridges the disciplines of computer science, statistics, and mathematics.
